Rumah Semilir
Rumah Semilir is a private holiday villa in Cemagi, Bali, designed to move with the breeze and respond closely to its surroundings. Inspired by the openness of the rice fields and the constant flow of wind, we shaped the villa as a calm and breathable living space. The name reflects this idea, combining house and breeze into one experience.
We translated the landscape into architecture through vertical ironwood elements that echo the rhythm of rice fields, paired with Kerobokan stone for contrast and depth. The site presented a two meter level difference, which we used to position the swimming pool as the heart of the villa. An L shaped layout allows every space to face this central area while maintaining privacy.
Open living areas on the ground floor invite natural airflow without reliance on air conditioning. Upstairs, bedrooms are oriented to capture both pool and rice field views, creating a continuous connection to nature.
